I began Stock Outpost as a base for thoughts on the economy and stock market. An outpost on the frontiers of the investment world. When I have conviction in a thesis, I enjoy writing my thoughts out. I enjoy hearing from others and debating them, too.
The world of finance and economics drew me in when I began trading as a teen, over a decade ago. When in high school, a friend and I would get lunch at McDonalds, roleplaying that one of us was Buffett and the other Gates.
Overall, today I would describe myself as a value-oriented, long-term investor with a contrarian streak.
Some of the biggest influences on my investing style have been Warren Buffett/Charlie Munger, Peter Lynch, Ronald Read and Mohnish Pabrai, along with the wisdom of countless others. I have a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and English Literature. I am not a Financial Advisor. None of what I say is meant to be advice; just opinions and personal notes from the trenches.
